We are partnering with a well-established and growing managed IT services provider seeking a Project Engineer II to lead the implementation of infrastructure and systems projects for a client base. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys delivering technical projects, working directly with clients, and expanding into solution design and project leadership.
This position will be hybrid when not traveling (they estimate up to 30% travel depending on client and business needs.
Job Responsibilities
Lead the technical implementation of infrastructure and cloud projects for commercial clients.
Deploy and migrate Microsoft 365 environments, Windows servers, Azure services, virtualization platforms, networking equipment, and security solutions.
Execute project plans and implementation runbooks with minimal supervision.
Collaborate with senior engineers and project leadership on solution design and technical planning.
Travel to customer locations as needed for project deployments (approximately 30%).
Maintain accurate technical documentation and implementation records.
Serve as the primary technical contact for clients throughout project execution.
Perform post-deployment validation, troubleshooting, and knowledge transfer to the support team.
Mentor junior engineers and share technical best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
4–6 years of hands-on IT infrastructure engineering experience.
Experience delivering technical implementation or migration projects.
Strong knowledge of:
Microsoft 365
Microsoft Azure
Windows Server
VMware virtualization
Firewalls and network switching
Experience working within a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment is highly preferred.
Familiarity with multi-tenant client environments.
Excellent customer communication and project coordination skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple projects while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Industry certifications such as Microsoft, Azure, VMware, AWS, or CompTIA are a plus.
Experience with project management methodologies and documentation best practices.
