Senior Network Engineer

This position plays a key role in maintaining core network operations while advancing modernization efforts across data center, edge security, cloud connectivity, and automation. The Senior Network Engineer will partner closely with infrastructure, security, and cloud teams to ensure performance, uptime, and secure connectivity across a distributed environment.

This is a hybrid role based in Austin, and candidates should reside within reasonable commuting distance.

Job Responsibilities

Enterprise & Data Center Networking

• Support and optimize Cisco Nexus (NX-OS) switching infrastructure across data center and campus environments

• Troubleshoot complex routing, switching, and performance issues

Perimeter Security & SD-WAN

• Configure and manage Fortinet FortiGate firewalls and SD-WAN policies supporting branch locations

• Maintain and administer Cisco Firepower (FMC/FTD) security platforms

Application Delivery

• Manage F5 BIG-IP LTM/GTM solutions to ensure application availability, resiliency, and load distribution

Cloud & Disaster Recovery

• Oversee Microsoft Azure networking components including VNets and ExpressRoute

• Participate in planning and executing Azure Site Recovery and disaster recovery exercises

Identity & Access Management

• Maintain and administer Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) to enforce secure access and endpoint posture compliance

Wireless Infrastructure

• Manage Cisco Meraki wireless deployments for corporate and distributed office environments

Network Automation & Efficiency

• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python or Ansible

• Drive operational improvements through repeatable automation workflows

Monitoring & Documentation

• Utilize SolarWinds and native cloud monitoring tools to proactively monitor infrastructure health

• Maintain accurate network diagrams, configuration standards, and asset inventory documentation

Required Skills & Qualifications

Required Technical Experience

• Cisco Nexus / Data Center switching (NX-OS)

• F5 BIG-IP (LTM/GTM)

• Fortinet FortiGate and SD-WAN solutions

• Cisco Firepower (FMC/FTD)

• Cisco ISE

• Microsoft Azure networking and disaster recovery services

• Cisco Meraki wireless

• Basic to intermediate network automation using Python and/or Ansible

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent hands-on experience

• 8+ years of progressive experience in enterprise-level network engineering

• CCNP certification or equivalent experience strongly preferred

• Demonstrated experience supporting complex, multi-site, highly available environments
