The Command Center Specialist monitors mining dashboards, weather conditions, physical security, and surveillance, documenting and communicating all critical events to the client. They coordinate with engineering teams, energy suppliers, and on-site personnel for special projects such as deployments, decommissions, and power or maintenance activities.
This role operates in a 24/7 Operations Center, receiving information from the field and taking action or making notifications as outlined in Standard Operating Procedures. The Specialist must remain adaptable in urgent situations, analyzing data and making informed decisions in real time.
Job Responsibilities
- The Command Center Specialist must have the ability to analyze data and organize it accordingly and be an excellent communicator with the ability to speak and write clearly and accurately to senior level management
- At least 3 years of verifiable Operations Center experience or related experience
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Evaluates and selects among alternative courses of action quickly and effectively
- De-escalates conflict and stressful situations
- Drafts concise, accurate situational reports, prepare and present briefing materials
- Effective handling of problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary
- Receive information from the field and make appropriate notifications as required by Standard Operating Procedures
- The OC Specialist must adapt and function during time-urgent situations
- The OC Specialist will support security operations in crisis response and incident management
- Applicants should understand that this is a mentally demanding position which may require long hours; night, weekend, and holiday work; and managing stressful situations and conflict
- Work independently with little direct supervision
- Effectively listen to, understand, clarify, and resolve the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and leadership
- Maintains an open, positive, professional working relationship with site personnel and leadership
- Observe and inspect site locations via live video feed cameras
- Monitor patrols made by guards in the field
- Manages physical access control system, including identity management, facilities access privileges, and access needs for special events
- Utilizes video monitoring system, including forensic review of video recording to support investigations
- Ensures that property patrols are regularly conducted, maintaining security visibility and logging safety and security issues
- Receive, prioritize, and communicate emergency messages, making appropriate notifications such as weather, active shooter, or other emergency scenarios
- Provide support and emergency information to deployed personnel
- Work as a member of a team to continuously improve operational effectiveness, improving SOPs, and delivering support to the customer
Required Skills & Qualifications
Qualifications required:
- Associate degree in related field of study OR 2 years of relevant, Data Center support experience required.
- Genetec software experience or Genetec certification preferred.
- Expertise in Excel, Power BI, Tableau, preferred
- Strong IT troubleshooting skills – network, platform, storage, required.
- Experience with firewalls and firewall configuration
- Willing to learn new technologies and applications, required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, required.
- Experience with applications such as Confluence, Jira, preferred
- Experience with Slack, & Zabbix, preferred.
- Basic knowledge of Bitcoin or HPC principles, preferred.
- Understanding of ITIL service delivery concepts, preferred.
- Experience with coding languages such as SQL, Perl, Python, PHP, Javascript, preferred.
- Genetec software user experience or Genetec certification preferred.
- Experience working with wireless technologies, Virtual Private Networks (VPN), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), WAN Accelerators and associated technologies
